Remember, it’s a CHALLENGE!
These are the challenges to be aware of:
- This 11-mile walk on beach sand is for EXPERIENCED distance walkers ONLY and will take up to 6 hours to complete.
- Public restrooms can be 1-4 miles apart and up to 300 yards off the beach;
- No access to food or drinking water (no hydration stations on the beach);
- Cell service is spotty;
- There are TWO sections that may prove difficult for some:
(1) A rocky reef the size of a football field between Scripps Pier and the Mushroom House (wear sturdy shoes with good soles);
(2) Flat Rock on the northern boundary of Black’s Beach – this can be a scramble where you use both hands and feet.
